Commentary
Cotton Post Gains to Kick Off 2025 -
Cotton futures closed with most contracts up 4 to 25 points on Thursday. The outside factors were mixed on the day as the US dollar index was up Corn Starts 2025 with Gains -Corn futures closed out the initial trading session in 2025 with gains of 1 to 2 ¾ cents across the board. The national average Cash Corn price Hogs Post Mixed Action on Thursday -Lean hog futures started off 2025 with mixed trade as nearbys were down a tick to 15 cents and other contracts up 22 to 37 cents. The national Cattle Push Rally into the New Year -Live cattle futures posted gains of 50 cents to $2 on Thursday. Cash trade has been slow this week, with some $196 reported in KS, a $3-4 climb from Wheat Head Lower to Kick Off the Year -The wheat market posted losses on Thursday to close out the Thursday session. Chicago SRW futures were down 3 ½ to 5 ¾ cents across board on the Soybean Bulls Start the New Year with a Spark -The soybean market kicked off 2025 with gains across most contracts, as futures were steady to 3 ½ cents higher.
